The series of topos-guides Icefalls from Mont-Blanc to Lake Geneva covers Haute-Savoie.

The series of topos-guides Icefalls from Mont-Blanc to Lake Geneva covers Haute-Savoie. This second volume describes the sites on the right bank of the Arve, the Giffre massif (with one of the most famous spots in the world: the Cirque du Fer à Cheval) and that of Chablais. Philippe Batoux, François Damilano and Ludovic Seifert have brought together their knowledge and their archives, to enhance this enormous potential of stunts and climbing in dry-tooling.

About the Authors:

High mountain guide and mountaineer of reference, PHILIPPE BATOUX continues to travel the planet in search of new vertical adventures. His favorite terrain? The mixed: "the richest terrain there is, half-ice, half-rock, half-free, half-artificial... A demanding terrain, which calls on everything we know and everything we can imagine". Based in Annecy, he is one of the fervent promoters of ice climbing in the Bornes and Aravis mountains. Professor at the National School of Skiing and Mountaineering, he participates in the training of guides.

Teacher-researcher at the Faculty of Sports Sciences of Rouen, LUDOVIC SEIFERT first criss-crossed the trails of Chablais and Giffre as a mountain guide. He knew how to share his knowledge of these pre-Alpine massifs in the writing of the topo Le Giffre à petits pas. His passion for high mountains and ice climbing made him discover distant mountains (Mongolia, Peru, Ecuador, India). He now travels between Normandy and his native Haute-Savoie to find alpine snow and ice routes every weekend.
