Using the worldwide 406 MHz frequency Kannad has developed the GPS enabled 406 XS-3 in anticipation of the shut down of the 121 MHz frequency in February 2009. With twenty years of experience in the use of the 406 MHz frequency Kannad recognises that a 121 MHz PLB - accurate to within 1260km2 - is inefficient. The 406 MHz frequency and GPS system in the 406 XS-3 identifies the PLB user and locates them within a radius of 60 meters. With this the 406 XS-3 is not restricted to local environments and can be used in any country around the world.
The Kannad 406 XS3 GPS comes with a stylish belt carry pouch which will float when immersed in water.
