Description

The Atlas Helium Backcountry (BC) delivers on performance, without giving up on weight. The composite Helium deck provides an ultra-light foundation and a unique louver design to shed more snow while trekking. A tempered steel BC crampon is placed lower on the shoe's frame to work in tandem with the PackFlat binding to allow for a more natural step. Your feet are securely held in place with the urethane Z-straps. With it's light weight, the Helium's are designed to secure down flat to your pack, meaning when they're not in use, they are not a hinderence to your enjoyment in the terrain. Adding to the grip of the BC crampon, anodized aluminum traction rails provide a secure grip when ascending, descending and traversing. Expect reliability and performance with these ultra-light, space saving snowshoes.

Technology

Helium Deck:

The deck of the all-new Helium series provides the foundation to make these the lightest composite snowshoes available. The unique louver design sheds snow to keep them lightweight, while also creating traction.

PackFlat™ Binding:

The PackFlat™ binding accommodates larger mountaineering & snowboard boots, featuring a single urethane z-strap that holds the foot securely and is fully field-replaceable with the included BC Utility Strap. Designed to pack flat when not in use.

Helium BC Crampon:

Designed and tested to meet the standards of alpine adventurers, the BC is the lightest crampon in the Helium series. Crafted from tempered steel, this crampon’s tangs provide the bite needed in variable snow conditions. The BC crampon also maintains a low profile to compliment the pack-flat binding.

Aluminum Traction Rails:

Lightweight 6061 Al Traction Rails run 2/3 length of snowshoe providing stability and control in all conditions, while still allowing tail to flex for natural gate.
