Bibblumun Stage Race 2024 Recap - Sia Kindberg

The Rapid Ascent Run Bibbulmun Track Stage Race is a 3-day trail running stage race along the most spectacular sections of the famed Bibbulmun Track in Great Southern WA. Check out Brand Ambassador Sia Kindberg's account of this sensational serious adventure.

Day 1

It exceeded expectations, especially after being forced to have a DNS (Did Not Start) at the 2020 Margaret River Ultra due to Covid lockdown no.2 (111 days) in Victoria and Covid border restrictions in Western Australia. Having lived in Australia for 20 years, I finally experienced Western Australia's trails, which reminded me of Victoria's finest routes such as Wilsons Prom, the Alpine region, Great Ocean Road, and Mornington Peninsula. The familiarity was comforting despite being on the opposite coast. I loved every minute of it, even the sandy hills.

Day 2

The second day of Bibblumun caught me off guard with my rather strong run, especially after yesterday's demanding course. This trail is truly exceptional, offering breathtaking views and an ocean of wildflowers. The sense of community is remarkable, with runners addressing each other by name and constantly making each other laugh along the way. Pure trail running magic! I feel grateful to get the opportunity to run on this part of the world.

Day 3

Runners were comfortable with their pace and have all found new friends to run with or running by, encouraging each other as we always do as trail runners. It was another stunning day on the trails with a spectacular coastline view almost all day. I loved the rolling hills and for some reason I also loved the giant mountain we had to climb up and run down. The big boulders on the top were majestic!

This race is definitely the jewel of the stage races! I can’t wait to do this again!
