La Sportiva Prodigio Pro Review
One of our customers took out the new La Sportiva Prodigio Pro trail running shoes for their first run with the Dandenong Trail Runners on their annual Australia Day event. They ran just over 20km on a variety of surfaces with a couple of small technical downhills to test stability and grip.

My First Trail Run - 2024 Trails Plus Halloween Howler
I did my first trail run on Saturday 26/10/2024 at the Trails+ Halloween Howler. It was so much fun! I started my trail running journey with 5km distance on a relatively flat surface with subtle yet long inclines in between plus hints towards more technical elements in the future.
La Sportiva Mistral Climbing Shoe Review
The Mistral is a new shoe from La Sportiva dedicated to climbers in the evolution phase. Built for comfort and versatility the shoe is a great all rounder, a comfortable indoor training shoe to a great multi pitch trad machine. With added environmentally friendly additions the Upper and insole are made entirely without the use of animal products and the sole is made from recycled Vibram rubber offcuts from the La Sportiva factory in Italy.
Snapack - Backpack for a Secure Serious Adventure
As part of preparing for my trip to Italy where I competed at the Club Crew World Championships with Melbourne Flames Dragon Boat Club, I was made well aware of pickpockets (prior to my departure from family and friends plus recall regular announcements on trains and stations in Florence and Rome) and knew I needed not only a pack to transport my dragon boat gear for training/racing with ease but essential items for my travels across the country as well.
If You Want Something Done, You Ask a Busy Person - Sia Kindberg & Surf Coast Century 2024
So, when six runners approached me to coach them for the Surf Coast Century in Anglesea this September, I knew it would add yet another task to my already jam-packed schedule. As a Project Consultant, I’m used to juggling multiple projects daily. My approach is always rooted in curiosity: "How can I do this? Why isn’t this working? How can we make it better?" And as a passionate trail and ultra runner, I couldn’t turn away from the opportunity to share the beauty of trail and ultra running with others.
Key Features of Alpine, Ski & Mountaineering Packs
Nestled in the corner of our in-store upstairs pack section, you will find an array of alpine specific packs. Alpine packs can roughly be divided into ski and mountaineering styles. These rucksacks are feature laden and have a lot to offer. Due to their similarities, some ski packs make a pretty good mountaineering pack and vice versa.
Everest 135 - A Unique Ultra Marathon
I was recently lucky enough to take part in the Everest 135, a unique ultra marathon in Nepal that follows the historic route from Jiri to Everest Base Camp. By far the biggest challenge I’ve undertaken in my ultra running career, to be honest it left me a little shell shocked and confused.
Mont Icicle Down Jacket Review
So, I wanted a really warm jacket. Because sometimes layering isn’t enough. Or I'm sitting still, no fire nearby. Belaying a friend who is dogging their way up an ice climb while I stand in a sunless gully feeling my beard freeze. Sleeping in a snow cave. Chatting to friends until late. Walking around in the Arctic circle looking at the Aurora Borealis at minus 29 degrees Celsius. That sort of thing.
