The La Sportiva Katana Lace is actually quite a different shoe from La Sportivia's original Velcro Katana.

While it is still a low-volume shoe with a similar shape, The La Sportiva Katana Lace is a bit more aggressive than the original Katana. It's capable of edging tiny holds. Yet, it's still – like the original – low-volume in the front, which makes it good for jamming in cracks.

La Sportiva has innovatively inserted the lining between the leather uppers and the rubber rand; a solution that brings together the structural advantages of a lined shoe and the breathability and precision of an unlined shoe.

The Katana Lace is good at edging thanks to the Vibram® XS Edge sole, which gives support on smaller holds. The shoe's downturn lasts for the life of the shoe, thanks to La Sportiva's patented P3 System. The tongue is made using a soft and breathable material and the lacing system allows for optimum regulation of the internal volume of the shoe: all elements aimed at providing a great overall fit.
