LA SPORTIVA SOLUTION Womens Climbing Shoe

The women's version of La Sportiva's high-performance climbing shoe: the Solution.

They say that once you wear the Solution, there's no going back. Indeed, it's the shoe of choice for many high-end athletes – climbers such as Sasha DiGiulian, Margo Hayes and Beth Rodden.

This newest version of the Women's Solution features a new pull-tab closure that is an improvement on the previous version.

Like previous La Sportiva Women's Solutions, this model is made for narrow, low-volume feet. It's also not as rigid as the men's version, though it maintains the power you need. Like the men's version, it has a deep heel-cup that lets you heel hook better and gives you more flexibility on incuts and overhangs.

The Solution was the first shoe to utilise La Sportiva's P3® technology – that is, 'permanent power plaftorm'. This rand is what retains the Solution's aggressive downturn for so long.

The women's Solution uses Vibram® XS Grip™ rubber – extremely sticky, extremely soft. This is part of what allows the Solution to – uniquely – be stellar for smearing, unlike a lot of super-aggressive shoes. The drastic downturn helps you hook features on overhanging terrain.

For some reason, the Solution – although highly aggressive – is oddly comfortable. This is probably a combination of the heel cup design, the last and the sock-like entry.
