If you are trying to decide how many pots you will need, you should start by deciding what type of cooking you want to do and how many people you need to cook for. For cooking dehydrated foods with just two people, then a single pot is all you will need. However, if you are planning to make meals that require more ingredients or there will be additional people to cook for, make sure to purchase extra pots.
You have the option to select individual pots and pans or a cook set. Cook sets are pots, pans and lids that come bundled together and are designed to fit together. Cook sets allow you to have pots and pans available for multiple uses while also featuring a compact design that saves space.
When choosing pots, don't forget about the lids. Lids help the food to cook faster, which saves on fuel. They also prevent waste by reducing splatter. Some cook sets offer lids that can fit multiple pots, while other brands have a specific lid or each pot.
Outdoor cook sets are also made from a variety of materials. Aluminium cookware is designed to be lightweight and is good for simmering foods. Hard-anodised aluminium is designed to resist scratches while offering the heat conduction benefits of aluminium. Stainless steel cookware is heavier but offers more scratch-resistance than aluminium.
Titanium cookware is even more lightweight than aluminium and has the added benefit of being highly resistant to corrosion. While titanium cookware may cost more than other types of cookware, it offers an excellent cooking surface and is ideal for outdoor cooking.
