Welcome to the Bogong Newsletter
In this issue of the Bogong Newsletter: Our next Bogong Info Session is about transitioning from gym climbing to outdoor climbing. We've also had heaps of new arrivals, including a line of Rab mountain wear. And, because many of our staff have been heading out for adventures with their little ones, we've written a few notes on the topic of kids in the outdoors.
Plus, new gear from
Edelrid,
Mont,
La Sportiva and
Suunto.
Event: Transitioning Into the Outdoors
with Bogong staff James Scott-Bohanna
If you started out climbing in a gym, it can be intimidating thinking about the prospect of heading outdoors. What gear do you need? Who do you go with? How is everything set up outdoors? Where do you go?
To answer these questions, we're running a Bogong Info Session:
Climbing and Bouldering – Transitioning Into the Outdoors.
Our presenter is Bogong staff member
James Scott-Bohanna, who is one of our most experienced climbers – with over 25 years of experience climbing outdoors, in 16 countries, including a two-year world climbing trip.
He'll be joined by
Melbourne Climbing School
ACIA-certified multipitch guide and climbing instructor Aaron Lowndes, who will offer tips and insights on getting started.

Bogong Equipment was founded in 1989. Everyone who works at Bogong Equipment is a climber, hiker, mountaineer or runner. We have first-hand experience in cragging, multiday bushwalking, alpine climbing and trail running. We use the gear we sell. That means, we can tell you how a product truly performs in the field. That's how we only select the best gear to stock our shelves.
Our stock room in our brick-and-mortar store on Little Bourke Street, in Melbourne, is filled with purpose-designed, technical equipment. With our vast selection of gear, it can be tricky to know where to begin. Especially if you don't know exactly what you're looking for. That's why we employ knowledgeable, experienced staff. We can help you get equipped for your remote trekking expedition, your ice-cap crossing, climbing your first peak or simply your next wander in the hills.
