LA SPORTIVA TX5 Mens GoreTex Hiking Boot

The La Sportiva TX5 Gore-Tex hiking boot is the 'Level Up' version of the popular TX4 Mid.

Although the TX5 hiking boot shares the same sole rubber – Vibram MegaGrip, with Impact Brake System –, it has deeper lugs, as well as differently shaped lugs and a different lug pattern.

That's not all that's different, obviously. Compared to the TX4, the La Sportiva TX5 GTX has a more structured build. This is noticeable in the construction of the heel, in the flex of the sole (which is still exceptional for a hiking boot) and in the higher cuff.

The cuff design is borrowed from the highly technical La Sportiva Trango footwear series, and comes with a sewn-in tongue.

In terms of feel, this is a more rigid, structured boot, yet it still bears the flex – in the cuff and toe – that gives TX footwear its versatility when it comes to negotiating rock steps and technical, 'climby' sections of a hike.

The La Sportiva TX5's lacing system has extra hooks for added security.
