The DMM Pivot offers a significant improvement over other dual-mode belay devices.
The primary difference is the addition of a pivoting loop which, whilst in guide mode, when either one or two climbers weight the rope the tension is easily released. The device pays out rope very smoothly whether attached to the harness or the anchor, and is still light enough to carry on any climbing trip. The Pivot provides a secure confident catch and controlled lowering.
