The Black Diamond Pilot is an assisted-braking ATC belay device.

This revolutionary device adds an extra level of security to your belay. It threads just like a regular tubular belay device, but gives you braking assistance when the climber falls. It's a simple, lightweight device with no moving parts. Paying out the rope is easy. Releasing and lowering very easy.

Makes single-pitch projecting less tiring for the belayer and more secure for the climber.

Note: This device is now mandatory at Hardrock Climbing gym in both the CBD and Nunawading locations.
